Melanie Nash

I, Melanie Nash, am a South African born Singer, Songwriter and Musician. My music is a mixture of Folk-Pop & Contemporary.

I started singing from the young age of 6 years old and at 13 years I started playing the acoustic guitar. The song writing began soon after I learned how to play a few songs. My love of song writing became a passion and a focus in my life.

“There are many sides to me, there are many sides to my songs and I write from the heart”.

“It is hard to write a song for the sake of it as there is always a truth in every song I write”.

“Most of my songs are a reflection of the experiences in my life”.

I feel most fulfilled in the creation of unravelling lyrics and melodies.

“It is a very special and magical experience to be able to create a song, especially a song born from struggle, heartache and bad times”.

“It is these songs that are the most beautiful and how people relate to them in many different ways that is also a fantastic experience.”

In 2011, I started my music business teaching acoustic guitar and vocal training. My love of teaching has also fuelled my passion and it gives love to help others, especially children in their musical journeys.

I intend to continue writing songs for other artists and to grow my musical career through more exposure via various media such as radio and live shows. I intend to get the name Melanie Nash Music out into the bigger world, and not keep it to myself, friends and family,

I have recorded songs which are on Reverbnation and Soundcloud and is currently working on my latest material for a recording.

I won the 2017 Music Gear Zone Acoustic Competition organised by C-Weed Entertainment Promotions.

I consider myself as an old soul, untamed and drawn to the simple way of life.

“If I can make some difference to someone through one of my songs, my purpose here on earth is achieved”.

Melanie Nash Music Blog

This is my blog for Melanie Nash Music.

It will include my live gigs at places like Zack’s in Windemere Centre, Durban, the Hacienda in Monteseel and Pinto’s in Hillcrest.

I obviously keep up to date  with music trends in my genre which is Folk-pop and contemporary. I will update with information that catches my eye. As an example, one of my music hero’s Cat Stevens is coming to Durban in November 2017 and I have tickets to the show. I will be commenting on the awesome time I will have had.
